students, the Catawba County System endeavors to meet the diverse cognitive and
affective needs of gifted children through a comprehensive array of service
options. These services reflect the unique needs of gifted students who exist within all ethnic, geographic, and socioeconomic
groups. Therefore, we believe the school system and community have a
shared responsibility to provide a quality education for gifted students as an
