Monitor homework
· Encourage participation in wholesome activities
· Limit and supervise television and video games
· Encourage your child to use good time management and
organization practices
· Talk often to teachers
· Be active in PTA/O, booster clubs, etc.
· Read to your child
· Establish daily family routines for time to eat,
walk, watch television, and talk together
· Give each child at least 15 minutes alone with you
each day
· Schedule daily homework times
· Monitor out-of-school activities
· Talk about graduation as a “passport” to continued
schooling
· Ensure your child goes to school emotionally and
physically healthy, well-fed, and rested
