There once was a young eagle that was always competing to be the top bird
of the flock. As usual, there was always those few birds who kept
him from becoming number one, and they always told him that he would never
amount to anything.
So one day the young eagle went to one of the elders of the flock to ask
him what he had to do to become the best there ever was. The elder
asked him what he was failing to do. The young eagle replied by
saying that he never could fly the fartherest in the eagle races and he
never could swoop down and bring in supper for the family like all the
other eagles his age did.
The elder asked the young
eagle how many times he had tried to succeed at these tasks, and all the
young eagle could say was once or twice.
The next bit of advice that
the elder gave the young eagle was the most helpful. He told the
young eagle that to become successful he had to practice, learn from his
mistakes, and keep trying again.
So within the next few months
the eagle had applied the elder's advice and was the winner of the
fartherest flyer in the eagle races and he always brought in the
supper.
One day the young eagle was
given the honor of the youngest eagle to sit on the elders' board.
Through the elder's advice, the young eagle had truly become the
best.
TO
SUCCEED YOU MUST PRACTICE, LEARN FROM YOUR MISTAKES, AND KEEP ON TRYING.
