What
I do
This coming year is
my sixth year teaching at Oxford. I teach all subjects,
but I am a true reader! I am always reading a book in my
spare time.
Educational
Background
I went to Oxford Elementary School, so teaching here is
very special to me. I graduated from
Bunker
Hill High School in 1999 and earned
a Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education from
Lenoir-Rhyne College in 2003.
I earned a Master's Degree in Reading Education from
Appalachian State University
in 2008. I have also
completed 180 hours of classes to earn my state licensure to teach
Academically/Intellectually Gifted
students. I admit I am also addicted to playing with my webpage! I am webmaster
for the school's as well and am very proud of how it looks. This year I won
NCAECT's "Best Teacher Website" award for the entire state!
Here you can read
all about it.
My
Family
My husband Josh
also grew up in this area. We have two sons. Jackson is in the fourth grade here
at Oxford and Jake is three. We are expecting our THIRD boy in mid-October!
Future
Goals
One day I would love to work in a small college and
supervise student teachers. Right now I am nowhere near ready to leave my
classroom, but I would love to work with future teachers one day!
