KOOL TERRIFIC KID CITIZEN 
Banoak kids are KOOL Terrific KIDS !!!!!!!

Dear Parents, Students and Teachers,

We are pleased to announce that we are off to a “KOOL” start at Banoak again this year. Part of our “Kool” year will involve our participation in the “Kool Terrific Kid Citizen” program sponsored by the Catawba Valley Golden Kiwanis Club.

Each nine weeks grading period, one child from every homeroom will be selected to be a Kool Terrific Kid by achieving a goal agreed upon with his/her teacher. The students selected by the teacher will be the class’s Kool Terrific Kid Citizen for that nine weeks.

 Each Kool Terrific Kid will receive an award certificate, as well as other prizes at a ceremony held near the end of each nine weeks. Representatives from the Catawba Valley Golden Kiwanis Club will be present at the celebration held in our school gym.

 Students can become “Kool Terrific Kid Citizen’s” by improving behavior, attendance, schoolwork and relationships with others, and working on other areas where students and teachers feel improvement is needed. The Kool Terrific Kids program focuses on Citizenship and positive Character Traits. These traits are listed by month on the back of the letter sent home for you.

We will notify you if your child is nominated to be a Kool Terrific Kid Citizen for the nine weeks from his/her class. We hope you will join us as we recognize the mighty efforts our children are making to be lifelong learners of Citizenship & Character.

 We are very excited about becoming part of the community program because as we all know - Banoak kids are “ KOOL TERRIFIC KIDS ” !!!!!!!

The first nine weeks Kool Terrific Kids Character traits words are Citizenship: law /rule abiding, community service, and Trustworthiness: honesty, dependable, promise-keeping. Our first awards will be given in the gym in late October or early November. You will be notified by letter if your child is selected for this honor during each nine weeks. Thank you!
