Expectations for Graduates
and Guests
Before and During the
Graduation Ceremony |

- No items will be allowed into the auditorium that
could interfere with someone else's viewing, enjoyment, or safety during
the graduation ceremony. (Examples are: balloons, signs,
noise-making devices, flowers in glass vases, etc.)
- All graduates must have both a cap and a gown to
march during the ceremony.
- No decorated caps or gowns will be
allowed.
- Cords and stoles worn by graduates must be
approved by Catawba County Schools and musts be worn properly draped.
- Gowns should not be worn until you are inside the
facility at CVCC. (Every student will be checked for inappropriate
items).
- Graduates will not be allowed to wear bandanas,
do rags, sunglasses, ball caps, flip flops, or tennis shoes.
- Graduates may not wear jewelry outside of their
gowns.
- No drinks or bottled water will be allowed inside
the building before or during the ceremony.

Appropriate Graduate Dress

Males - White shirt with collar,
necktie, dark dress pants, and dress shoes

Females - A dress or dark dress pants
with an appropriate shirt and dress shoes

Any item or any person that
jeopardizes the dignity,
integrity, or safety of the graduation ceremony
will be removed from the ceremony. |

All students are expected to
behave in a positive and courteous
manner before, during, and after the ceremony. |
| |
|
Disruptive behavior by
graduates or guests will result in removal
from the graduation ceremony. |
