I pledge allegiance to the flag of the United States of America.  And to the republic for which it stands, one nation, under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all.  

    Get ready!  Pack your bags!  You are about to embark upon an exciting but dangerous journey.  You will travel over 225 years back through time.  When you arrive you will be living during one of the most exciting moments in history.  The time will be somewhere between 1760 and 1790; you will choose the exact date.  The American colonies will be struggling to break away from their mother country, and war is imminent . You will meet people who strongly oppose breaking away from England and others who believe it is the destiny of America to be free. 

    While you are there, you will be working for a local newspaper.  You will be reporting on the events as they unfold.  It will be your task to report the news, and in order to do this, you will need to be well informed on what events have led up to this exciting point in history.
