Now you are ready to choose genre types of your own.
Genre
3 was a research paper on your author, including an analysis of one of
the author's works. After you select an author and work for the paper, choose three
more creative genre to present more information on the decade, on
the author, on his/her writing, or on a combination of these.
 |
For example, if you choose Hemingway as the author
for your paper,
you might want to do one genre on the Italian front in WWI, which is the
setting for his novel, A Farewell to Arms, and which is also
where Hemingway himself worked as an ambulance driver and was wounded.
To do so, you might draw a map of the place where Hemingway was
wounded and where he was hospitalized. In a similar vein, you might pretend you are
Hemingway and write a letter home. |

 | If you want, you may incorporate several genres into one.
For example, if you want to do a map, a poem, and a timeline within a
PowerPoint presentation, you may do so. Just make sure they require the time
that three genre would typically require. If you are unsure, ask your
teacher. You final grade will reflect the time you spent creating the
different genre. |
 |
After you select the genre for your author project and
three more, you will be asked to present your research and genres to the
class in an oral presentation. |
 |
Use your creativity and have fun. |
