Introduction

Welcome to a web quest on the Modern and Post-Modern Periods and how events of the period influenced the writings of major American authors in the Twentieth Century. You will learn about the major writers of the two periods, their works, and the major influences on those works. 

As you work on this web quest, you will

bulletlearn about the major wars and/or economic developments of one decade of the period from 1900-1950 (Modern Period) or from 1950-2000 (Post-Modern Period)
bulletanalyze how these events influenced the culture and writing of the period you have chosen
bulletchoose an author and evaluate the specific influences of the period that influenced him/her
bulletdevelop creative projects that reflect specific aspects of one of the decades that influenced or relates to your author and organize them into a Multi-Genre Research Project (MGRP)
