 | When you finish the MGRP, you will need to create a product packet to
give to the evaluator. This is a paper evaluation product. It will include
five parts:
 | A title page |
 | A table of contents, listing your seven genres |
 | A business style letter to your teacher telling the following:
 | the decade |
 | why you chose this decade |
 | the author you chose and, if applicable, the work you selected |
 | a listing of the genres including the journal, your slanguage
genre, your author genre, and the three genres of your own choice |
 | a short description of what each genre emphasizes |
 | a description of your feelings about this project; for example,
what did you learn, what parts were easiest or hardest, how is this
better or worse than a traditional research paper, etc. |
|
 | Works cited page in MLA style |
 | Final evaluation form: print and
attach. |
|
 |
You must also plan the formal presentation to the class.
The following are some guides to help you plan the oral presentation. They
will be scored on the rubric.
 |
Introduce yourself to the class, even though they
know you. |
 |
Tell why you choose X for your topic. |
 |
Try to involve the audience in the presentation, if
possible. |
 |
Stand up straight, with both feet on the floor a
little apart and both hands to the side or used to make relevant
gestures (not in your pickets). |
 |
Make eye contact. |
 |
Don't chew gum. |
 |
Speak clearly and loudly, Your voice will carry
farther if you lower it a little. |
 |
Plan a definite closure/conclusion. Ask for
questions. |
 |
Dress appropriately. |
 |
Keep the presentation between 10-20 minutes. If you
know you will need more time, tell the teacher far enough in advance to
make sure it is allotted. Time yourself before the presentation. |
 |
Use a variety of genre and delivery methods, such as
transparencies, video, graphs, charts, diagrams, PowerPoint or Flash
presentations, web pages, photos, models, handouts, etc. Come prepared. |
 |
Make sure the genre are easily seen across the
classroom or are copied so the whole class can look at personal
copies. |
|
 |
Good Luck!! |
