Media Skills:  1. Children will be able to tell if a story is Fiction or Nonfiction.  2.  Children will gain knowledge of the author, Eric Carle and some of his books.  3.  Children will locate books in the media center by using the alphabetical ordering of author's last name.

Science Skills:  Children will be able to identify 5 different insects and will learn facts about each one.  Their findings will be displayed on a Venn Diagram.  

Evaluation:  A rubric will be used for assessment.  

Resources:  Students will use print resources and the internet.

It is suggested that this quest be completed as a cooperative effort between the classroom teacher and the media specialist.  It may take six 30 minute periods for completion.
